Good morning, Chandler Friends:
As hard as it is to believe, summer is already upon us. School is out, camps are in session, and the Ice Cream Festival—with its hamburgers, ice cream cones, and live music—is this week. I even know one or two families that have made a family trip and back again! Now that summer is here, I’d like to share a prayer from Fr. Austin Fleming I came across recently. May the Lord “summer” within each of us, and throughout our church community, over these warm months.
Come summer with me, Lord;
summer deep down in my soul;
restore my faith in summer’s time,
in rest, in joy, in play, in you…
Summer in my heart, Lord,
and dwell there
as if time would never end,
as if all time were children’s time, eternal time
when school is always out and joy is ever in…
And let others summer in my shade, Lord,
and share whatever summer’s peace is mine to give,
whatever summer’s light is mine to shed,
whatever summer’s warmth is mine to share…
Good God of every season and every day this week,
come summer with me, Lord, and let the child in my heart
spend this summer in your love…
Amen.
As always, keep reading to find out more about what’s coming up and how you can help. God bless you!

The Ice Cream Festival is this Saturday, June 8th. Chandler Friends Church will serve hamburgers, corn, chips, and drinks to raise funds for the church. If you signed up to help, plan to drop off your supplies and help prepare things at the church on Friday at 6:00pm. We’ll set up the next morning at 9:00am at Tilghman Park. Even if you didn’t sign up to help with the fundraiser, make sure to come by and see us on Saturday! Contact the church office with any questions (405-258-0722).

Join us as we learn about how God is at work in and through the Carpenter family!

The Stewards Committee invites you to come to one or both of the upcoming work days. As you know, it takes lots of time and money to keep our buildings and grounds looking beautiful. Here are the projects we’re tackling next week:
- Finish the privacy fence around the children’s playground (stain fence, hang gates).
- Clean water damaged ceiling tiles in the Worship Room
- Clean the yellow classroom and Scout building
- Replace/fix the door on the storage shed behind the church.
- Hang the website sign back up.
Questions? Contact Stewards Board Chairperson, Steve Brown (405-258-6612)

Vacation Bible School will be here before we know it! Make sure to save the date. If you’d like to help, reach out to Education Committee Chairperson, Ashley Kuczinski (405-620-2663).
