Good afternoon, Chandler Friends:

Last Wednesday we had the chance to listen to camp reports. As you likely know, our church has been sending kids to camp at Camp Quaker Haven in Ark City, KS for many decades now. I love to hear stories and reflections from camp. This year, I was struck by the theme verses from the High School and Junior High camps. The directors chose a spectacular passage from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. Here Paul reveals his pastoral intentions for writing, along with his understanding of the breathtaking love of God in Christ and the immense potential of each person. The passage reads,

“I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)”

I’m struck by the link between God’s love and human potential. According to this passage, the comprehension of God’s love—in it’s breadth, length, height, and depth—has a purpose: “so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Now that’s an astounding statement!

I’d love to know what stands out to you from this passage. Send me an email and let me know! And as always, keep reading to find out more about what’s to come. May you, too, come to understand—firsthand—the love of God in a new way this week.

Continue to pray for our travelers! Todd, Debbie, and Sadie landed safely in Burundi on Sunday afternoon (our time). Having already met with their hosts for the next couple of weeks, they’re excited to visit churches and meet other Friends from Burundi. Please pray for good conversations and safety. And pray for discernment for Sadie!

Vacation Bible School will be here before we know it! Make sure to save the date. If you’d like to help, reach out to Education Committee Chairperson, Ashley Kuczinski (405-620-2663‬).

Thanks to everyone who came out to Camp Reports last Wednesday! It is always a joy to hear about the fun had at camp—and experiences of God’s love.

Did you know that we have an online church calendar? If you want to know what’s coming up but you can’t remember—or find this newsletter—then you can always check the calendar on our website. Contact the church office if you would like to have something added to the calendar.
