Good afternoon, Chandler Friends!

Luke 6:6-11 shows Jesus healing a man with a withered hand—on the Sabbath. The Pharisees see a rule-breaker, but Jesus sees an opportunity to restore what is broken.

Sabbath is about restoration. In Exodus, God commanded Israel to rest, freeing them from Egypt’s endless labor. Sabbath declares that we are not slaves to our work. Research backs this up—regular rest lowers stress, strengthens relationships, and even helps our bodies heal.

God knew what he was doing when he gave us Sabbath. Yet, how often do we resist it? We push through exhaustion, believing we can’t afford to stop. But Jesus shows us that Sabbath is not a restriction—it’s a blessing. It’s a chance to breathe, to heal, and to be renewed.

This week, don’t just squeeze in rest. Receive it. Let Sabbath restore you—mind, body, and soul.

Come join us at the church to watch the big game! The church will provide hamburgers and hotdogs; you bring a side or dessert to share. It’s a long game, so feel free to come and stay as long as you like. We’ll set up a few table games for those not interested in the big game, and the halftime show will be blocked out. Hope to see you there!
