Good afternoon, everyone!
Christianity is a religion of love. God created our good world out of love for us. Jesus died to reveal the Father’s love for everyone—including the “enemies” of God. And the Spirit continues to rewire our hearts to receive the love of God and share it with others. St. Augustine of Hippo, one of the masters of our faith, gave an analogy for understanding the simultaneous “threeness” and “oneness” of God. He based his analogy upon love. Augustine says that love, while remaining “one” also consists of “three”: the Lover, the Beloved, and the Love shared between them. Augustine used that analogy to understand the Trinity: the Father loves the Son, the Son is loved by the Father, and the Spirit is the love shared between them. With that in mind, Christ’s persistent command to love God, our neighbors, and even our enemies takes us into the very life of God! Christianity really is Christian when we, in our own imperfect way, share the love of God with others.
What might that look like for you today? Remember, as Jesus told us, it isn’t anything remarkable to love our families or those who might repay us in some way. Perhaps our love is best measured by the great lengths we are willing to go for others who can’t repay us, or who otherwise repel us. Let’s reflect the love of God this week in word and deed, and not just with those who are easy to love. Let’s love indiscriminately. In other words, let’s be Christian.

Plan to join us on Wednesday, March 20th, at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall for a conversation with EFM directors, Matt Macy and Stan Leach. EFM has been busy! They’re well on their way toward a 5-year goal to launch 5 new mission fields. Don’t miss this opportunity to come and hear about the most exciting thing happening within the Friends Church right now. Due to Spring Break, there will be no Meals on the Run, J.A.M., or Youth Group that night.

Please consider donating prizes, eggs, and candy. You can sign up in the North Foyer. We need… Small toys, larger bags of candy (movie theater size) coloring books, play dough, and sonic gift cards. Dollar General and Five Below are great places to get good prizes. Questions? Contact Ashley Kuczinski (405-620-2663)
