Good afternoon, Chandler Friends:

If you’re anything like me, your calendar fills up quickly. We have ball games to watch, birthdays to attend, errands to run, dinners to cook, projects to finish, and even workouts to fit in somewhere along the way. And I haven’t even mentioned work! We’re busy people—that’s one of the hallmarks of contemporary society and culture. Sadly, when I get busy, one of the first items on the chopping block is prayer. Even though I know prayer places me in a better mindset, takes the world off of my shoulders, and reminds me of what truly matters, I often neglect prayer when I get busy.

I love the title of Bill Hybels bestselling book, Too Busy Not to Pray. The magic is right there in the title: in order to thrive, I must regularly pause, spend time with my heavenly Father, and bring my requests to him—even in the midst of a busy schedule!

I heard a story recently about someone who put, “stop and pray” alarms on their phone. The alarms went off every hour as a simple reminder. Perhaps you can try that as an experiment this week. I hope you will. And please let me know how it goes.

Keep reading to find out more about what’s coming up. God bless!
