Solomon’s Temple
Today’s sermon is based upon 1 Kings 5:1-5; 8:27-30, 41-43. In building a temple “for God’s name,” Solomon acknowledges the theological tension between God’s transcendence and immanence. In other words, God’s “otherness” and “closeness.” Although we will never know everything there is to know about God, God has graciously given us enough to enter into a relationship built upon trust and love.
